Full-Time Safety Coordinator

Position Summary: The key function of the Safety Coordinator is to support specific project needs and ensure that best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and an improved safety culture and performance is delivered.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

· Work with management and supervisors to create policies that clearly outline safety expectations

· Maintain documentation of the company's safety procedures, violations, and related events

· Create and update safety binders, keep record of safety violations

· Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and be involved in the design and implementation of safety trainings for all employees

· Educate employees on safety standards and expectations

· Obtain quotes from outside vendors for future trainings

· Conduct fire and ammonia drills

· Maintain a digital and paper record of employee trainings

· Assist with PPE demands and inventory

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management team

Qualifications and Skills:

· High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

· Bilingual Spanish/English required

· Experience conducting trainings in English and Spanish and modifying presentations to a specific audience

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation

· Proficient knowledge of desktop computers and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Internet Explorer)

· Experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred

· Experience with OSHA, HIPAA regulations, Forklift and Lock out/Tag out procedures preferred

· Ability to work constructively and interact effectively with a wide variety of people

· Adept at all forms of communication: phone, fax, text, email, and person to person.

· Familiarity of current mandatory safety standards for the workplace in Massachusetts to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission
